History of Argor-Heraeus
Argor-Heraeus began in 1951 as Argor SA in Chiasso, Switzerland. UBS took a majority stake in 1960 and full ownership in 1973. In 1986 Heraeus joined as a shareholder and the company became Argor-Heraeus SA. Two years later a new refinery opened in Mendrisio. In 1999 UBS left, and the shareholders later included Commerzbank and the Austrian Mint. In 2004 a branch opened in Santiago de Chile to serve South America. In 2017 Heraeus became the sole owner of Argor-Heraeus.
Argor-Heraeus is a global supplier of high-quality gold and is on the LBMA Good Delivery list.
