On each dealer profile we show a short list of facts that a careful buyer can check before ordering gold or silver online. We only use facts we can verify and link to: the dealer\u2019s own website and public company registers. The result reads \u201cMeets X of 8 checks\u201d. It is not a review and not a rating of service.<\/p>

The 8 checks<\/h2>
  1. Company name and registration number<\/b>The legal company name and a registration number are published on the website (for example Companies House number, ABN, UEN, EIN or state registration, trade licence).<\/span><\/li>
  2. Business address<\/b>A physical business address is published on the website, not only an email address or PO box.<\/span><\/li>
  3. In business for 5+ years<\/b>The company has been in business for at least 5 years, according to a public register or the dealer\u2019s own website.<\/span><\/li>
  4. Prices published online<\/b>Product prices are visible on the website without logging in.<\/span><\/li>
  5. Shipping costs published<\/b>Shipping costs (amounts, a table or a free shipping threshold) are published before checkout.<\/span><\/li>
  6. Buyback prices or terms published<\/b>The dealer buys metal back and publishes buyback prices or written buyback terms.<\/span><\/li>
  7. Returns or cancellation policy published<\/b>A returns, cancellation or withdrawal policy is published, including policies that exclude returns of bullion.<\/span><\/li>
  8. Valid HTTPS certificate<\/b>The website uses a valid HTTPS certificate (checked by our price service).<\/span><\/li><\/ol>

    Sources and date<\/h2>

    Every fact on a profile links to the page where we found it and shows the date of the check. Registers we use: Companies House (UK), ABN Lookup (Australia), ACRA (Singapore), state business registers (US), Handelsregister (Germany), Registro Mercantil (Spain), KRS and CEIDG (Poland), and the dealer\u2019s own legal notice or terms.<\/p>

    What \u201cnot found\u201d and \u201cnot checked\u201d mean<\/h2>

    \u201cNot found\u201d means we did not find the information on the dealer\u2019s website on the date of the check. It does not mean that the dealer does something wrong. \u201cNot checked\u201d means the website blocked automated access (for example a security check page), so we could not look. We do not try to get around such blocks. If any check could not be done, we show \u201cChecks incomplete\u201d instead of a number, so a blocked check never looks like a low result.<\/p>

    No effect on the price ranking<\/h2>

    Offers on metalsradar are always sorted by price. The checks do not change the order of offers or of dealers in any list. Dealers cannot pay for a better result, and the checks are separate from any paid placement.<\/p>

    How to send a correction<\/h2>

    Do you run one of these shops? If a fact has changed or we missed a page, send us the link through the contact form. We check it again and update the profile with the new date.<\/p>
