This internationally recognized coin features the universally adored panda with new designs released each year. First issued in 1983 as proof quality made from 90% fine silver and limited to 10,000 mintages, Chinese Silver Pandas have gone on to be highly sought-after by investors and collectors alike.
Chinese Silver Pandas are minted in different sizes ranging from ½ oz to 1 kilo. In 2016, the coins switched to metric units of measurement. The 1 oz coin was reduced to 30 grams and the 5 oz coin reduced to 150 grams. Today, Chinese Silver Panda Coins are produced by various mints, including the Shanghai, Shenyang, and Shenzhen mints. While the coins don’t usually feature mintmarks, small details reveal where the coin was struck.
The obverse of Chinese Silver Panda Coins features the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests located in Beijing’s Temple of Heaven. The reverse features a unique panda design with each new release. Each 1 oz coin has a face value of 10 Yuan.
